There are several places to get fresh fruits vegetables meat and eggs inside the bubble as well as just outside The Villages. Inside The Villages, you will find the Brownwood Farmer's Market every Saturday throughout the year from 9 to 1 in Brownwood Paddock Square. It is the largest of the regional farmers markets. You will find unique crafts, baked goods, ready-made meals, fruits, vegetables, meats, and farm fresh eggs. There are gluten-free and organically grown options as well. Did you know that The Villages grows many of the vegetables served in the restaurants and country clubs inside the bubble? The Villages promotes not only an active lifestyle but a healthy one as well! Visit The Village's Grown store in Brownwood Paddock Square, open Monday through Saturday from 10 to 5. Not only are there Villages grown fruits and vegetables but also organic vegan and gluten-free products too. There is another farmer's market in Lady Lake off 441 south. It is smaller but has quality fruits, vegetables, eggs, honey, baked goods, and handmade crafts. The Lady Lake farmers market is every Tuesday from 9 to 1. Last, there is a freestanding farmers market called Brown's Country Market. It is on hwy 301 north in Oxford and it is open from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. They have locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, and even Amish butter! So be sure to take advantage of living in Florida and eat fresh and healthy all year round!

When you move to The Villages, you will learn which fruits/vegetables are in season. The dates and duration will likely be different from your home state! Also, there are several U-pick fruit farms near The Villages for a fun and outdoor activity. Some in-season fruits will also have their own festivals locally, like Blueberries and Strawberries. Certainly you will find some things are more expensive when you move to Florida, but eating fruits and vegetables is not one of them! Supporting local businesses while eating healthy is a win-win for everyone!
