"How do I get my mail and deliveries in The Villages?" The answer is both at neighborhood mail stations as well as deliveries to your door. The Villages provides a locked mailbox and two keys when you buy a home in The Villages. Mail from the post office is delivered six days a week. Mailbox stations are often a short walk or golf cart away from your home! Some smaller packages are delivered to the locked package boxes at the mail station. You will have a numbered key delivered to your personal mailbox when you have a package waiting. Larger packages from Amazon or packages from UPS or Fedex are delivered right to your door, seven days a week. Mail stations also have a mailbox for The Villages so you can drop off your Village's water, amenity fee, & sanitation bill, postage free! In addition, there is also an outgoing mailbox for stamped USPS mail. Many mail stations also have an ATM associated with Citizens First Bank. Currently, there is a debate in The Villages. Some people put a sticker on their mailbox in order to easily identify it. Some people don't like the look of the mailboxes with stickers on them. What do you think?
During the holidays, the mail station workers pile packages into wagons pulled by golf carts and deliver packages to your door. We don't really have a problem with porch pirates but that doesn't mean that it can't happen. Door-to-door soliciting isn't allowed in The Villages, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. My best advice is to fit your doorbell with a camera doorbell. Footage from the camera as well as the footage from the camera at the gates can be used to track down porch pirates and solicitors.
While we are talking about mail and packages, at most of the shopping areas in The Villages, either a UPS or a shipping store can be found. This makes it easy to mail packages close to home. Also, if you are going to be a snowbird and your landlord is not allowing you to use the mailbox, you can easily rent a PO box at those stores so you can get packages and mail delivered.
